Our Custom Telescope & System
The 1999 original Celestron 14” SCT was replaced by a Meade 16” SCT installed in 2002. That was replaced with our research grade, 17.2" diameter f/8 Ritchey-Chretien telescope installed in 2015.
The mount is motor driven with a searchable GOTO computer system, including a library of 200 million objects was recently updated November 2021. A Meade Autiostar controlled, WIFI system now directs our drive system using an Apple Ipad!
Mounted on top of the primary instrument is a 4" refracting telescope outfitted with a white light and a hydrogen alpha filter for solar viewing.
The system software is Sky Safari 6 Pro and Plus driven by a Apple Ipad.
