Skies Astronomical Society (MSAS) is a 501(c)(3)
California Non-Profit Public Benefit Corporation. Through
membership support, our organization developes and
maintains the MSAS Astronomy Village facility, acquires
science resources for our lender library, provides
educational programs for students in grades K-12 and the
general public, supports graduate level research for 5
universities, and provides the MSAS Astronomy Village
News (e-mailed) updates. Unlike a "local club", Mountain Skies promotes education in astronomical and related sciences by providing resources and educational programs for its members and the general public. Special emphasis is placed on the educational "tools" of science and K-12 educators to promote scientific interest and understanding. Our unique lender library provides members and schools with books, telescopes, video tapes and many other tools to learn and enjoy astronomy from the easy to read children's books to complex astrophysical theory volumes. |
